One thing the Dolphins have been good at during the Flores and Grier era is locking up young talent early. They extended Xavien Howard last season, Jakeem Grant, DeVante Parker, Eric Rowe, and now defensive tackle Zach Sieler.
Sieler was signed at the end of last season from the Baltimore Ravens practice squad and has been a hit ever since joining the Phins. Sieler has appeared in all 9 games the team has played thus far and has proven he is a steady contributor. He currently has 26 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an 8 hits on the opposing quarterback.
This past weekend, he stepped in and filled in the void from Christian Wilkins being placed on the COVID list. The team announced the deal is through the 2023 season which ensures he will be part of the program for 2 more seasons. His deal was set to expire at the end of this year. Locking him up now is a great move as he is a proven player with more upside and a contract that would only get more expensive.
