In the 5th round of the Draft, the Dolphins decided to focus on the defensive side of the ball as they selected the University of North Carolina’s Jason Strowbridge.
Strowbridge is a solid football player who does not overly impress physically, but his sound technique and smart play make him an intriguing prospect. The Dolphins can either allow him to bulk up and become a pass rushing interior defensive lineman, or if he cuts weight and develops more moves rushing from the outside then Strowbridge could become a contributor on the edge.
The team is making a concerted effort to improve the trenches and at least provide some competitive depth entering training camp. With the signings of Ogbah, Lawson, and the addition of Raekwon Davis in the 3rd round, Strowbridge will have to impress in order to crack the rotation at all for this coming season.
